 Clear organizational structure is critical to clear,

concise, logical communication

 The use of headings helps frame the document for the

reader

 Clear headings assist the reader anticipate important topics

and follow the development of your thesis (research report)

 APA suggests five formatting arrangements, they can be

found on p.62 of your APA manual (section 3.02)

Citations and Plagiarism

 Credit must be given for all work that is not the

author’s own….

 In giving proper credit to previous work, use the

protocol outlined in your APA manual (sections 6.01-

6.32). This is quite a bit of information, however you

must be comfortable with the procedure. Keep your

books handy and refer to them if you have any

questions.
