Case analysis

It was two days after I had taken some refreshment in Salama restaurants and paid his bill using a credit card. A credit card is one of the advanced systems that have been introduced in the restaurant to cope with global competition. Later I accessed the bank to monitor my account statement, where he realized that a considerable amount of money was missing. At first, he blamed the bank because the massive amount of cash lacked in my Account (Janet Johnston, 2013). As much as it termed as bank fraud, more investigation and scrutiny were initialized. The bank management wanted to understand how the money would be lost despite the high tracking processes that have been put in place. This was the first case that the bank had received since they have implemented the SOX compliance framework. Everything has been effectively working well since the final aspect has been taken care of by the system. In this case, the bank was seeking divergence to understand the latest traction made by the Account. In this process, some malicious transactions and the double entire were realized when he made a patent in the Salama restaurant (Cao & revision, 2017).

Footprinting Procedures

In this case, I would apply a footprint framework to manage the situation and gather drastic information to dive the accurate picture of the situation. There are three elements that I would consider in the Account tracing process. All the banks and institutions have been recommended to use a database auditing The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 law passed by congress. The following procedure would help in verification and identifying all the activity in my Account.

Fist, mapping the entire Account and identifying their data flow from the time the transaction was made to the point of accessing statement.

Identifying the essential controls and the source of the code that allowed a double-entry transaction in Salama restaurant

Performing the assertion application functionality to verifying I, the bank recognized the transaction; if not, why did the system not halt or pend the traction process.

Lastly, the consideration and authorization scope is critical; the process would identify the source of the transaction code, infrastructure, and the effectiveness of the fraud traction that took place (Krug, 2020).

Following the above footprint procedure based approach, it would be straightforward to manage and handle the case. It makes it easier for the client to determine the next cause of action. In this case, he can consider compensation or seek further divergence from the law and fraud management organizations.
