Traditional Milk Cake Recipe

Milk cake has been a very trendy dessert lately with its airy texture and its extra moisture. It has become a must have dessert in almost any event or occasion. The mixture of the fluffy egg whites into the cake batter and the extra milk makes it irresistible. Once you try this recipe it will be a constant craving.

Required Tools: - 9” round cake pan - 2 mixing bowls - Mixer - Knife - A deep dish to place cake into - Measuring cups - Measuring spoons - Whisk

Ingredients:

- Cake: • 1 cup all purpose flour • 3/4 cup sugar • 1 tablespoon baking powder • 3 eggs (separated) • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • 1/4 cup whole milk

- Milk Sauce: • 1 can sweetened condensed milk • 1 can evaporated milk • 1 cup heavy cream • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- Whipping Cream (optional): • 2 cups whipping cream • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract • fresh strawberry

Instructions:

- Cake Instructions:

1)Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

2)Separate egg whites from egg yolk and put into separate bowls

3)Put egg whites into mixing bowl

4)Beat the 3 egg whites until thick and fluffy(figure 1)

5)Add sugar to mixing bowl gradually

6)Add egg yolks one at a time while mixing

7)Mix baking powder with the flour in a separate bowl

8)Then add the baking powder and flour into the mixing bowl gradually

9)Add milk into the mixing bowl gradually

10)Add vanilla extract into the mixture

11)Get a 9” cake pan add a little butter or oil to the pan

12)Pour the mixture into the pan (figure 2)

13)Put the pan in the middle of the oven

14)Leave the cake in the oven for approximately 25 minutes at 350 degrees

Note: Adding butter or oil to the pan allows the cake to separate easily from

the pan after baking

Note: Putting the pan into the middle of the oven allows the cake to cook evenly

- Milk Sauce Instructions:

1)Place evaporated milk into a mixing bowl

2)Add heavy cream into mixing bowl

3)Add condensed milk into mixing bowl

4)Mix the ingredients together using a whisk

5)Add vanilla extract while mixing

6)Mix all ingredients evenly (figure 3)

- Whip Cream Instructions (optional):

1)Place 2 cups of heavy cream into mixing bowl

2)Add a table spoon of vanilla extract

3)Mix the ingredients until fluffy (figure 4)

Warning: Do not over mix as the whip cream can turn into solid and cannot be

used

- When The Cake Is Done:

1)Take the cake out of the oven

2)Let the cake cool down

3)Take the cake out of the pan

4)Place the cake into a deep dish

5)Poke holes using a knife or fork

6)Pour the milk mixture on the cake slowly unit soaked (figure 5)

7)Put the cake in the fridge to cool

8)Optional: Once the cake has cooled spread the whip cream on the cake evenly

9)Optional: Place fresh thin sliced strawberry on top

Warning:The pan will be very hot use an oven mitt or a towel to remove from oven

Note: Making holes in the cake will allow the cake to absorb the milk sauce easily
