Finalworkplan.docx

submit your final work plan in this assignment. This work plan provides a clear and complete picture of your research.

For your research, you are required to submit a work plan that includes the following information:

· Problem statement (Describe the problem motivating the research)

· Research objectives (A purpose statement that includes the scope of the research and includes any identified limitations, i.e. budget constraints)

· Importance/Benefits (Significance of the problem)

· Research Design (Include data collection sources and methods)

· Data Analysis (What information do you plan to provide in your report?)

· Results: Deliverables (What do you expect to deliver as your research?)

· Work Schedule (Hint: Use the course schedule to help with due dates, but add details specific for your work schedule. Develop a realistic work schedule citing dates for completion of major tasks.)

1. Problem Statement

While there has been some progress made in EHR adoption and implementation, advantages are still falling short of expectations. Clinicians face significant difficulties when using EHRs, which limits the technology's ability to streamline doctors' workflows and enhance the quality of treatment patients get. It is still debated whether or if physicians' use of EHRs increases efficiency (namely, "saves time"). While there are others who think EHR implementation has enhanced medical care, more effort is still required. To draw a firmer conclusion, it is essential to determine the complicated process behind the assessment of patient outcomes associated with the use of EHRs.

1. Research Objectives

In order to better understand the consequences of EHR implementation and the impediments to EHR acceptance and usage, this project will conduct a literature analysis of documents between 2019-2022. There might be restrictions on the scope of this investigation. The lack of agreement in the literature on what constitutes an electronic health record (EHR) might make it challenging to choose appropriate search keywords. MeSH phrases like "electronic health record" or "personal health record" were used in the searches for scholarly papers; additional terms like "electronic medical record" and "computerized medical record" were also used. But, "Electronic Patient Record" was left out. It's possible that inadequate article coverage was achieved due to the search keywords used (specifically, the exclusion of "electronic medical record").

1. Importance

The purpose of this research is to highlight the information that is currently available about the impacts of EHR implementation as well as the challenges that prevent EHR acceptability and utilization.

1. Research Design

PubMed, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and the ACM Digital Library will be searched. A detailed search approach will be established in which search terms from two distinct sets will be merged (set 1: HER, PHR, and patient records; care pathways, working practices, workloads, and work procedures; set 2: EHR and PHR; expediency, benefits, drawbacks, satisfaction, cooperation, engagement, and problems)

1. Data Analysis

Both the quantitative and qualitative studies, as well as their findings, will be subjected to a qualitative analysis that will make use of a method called thematic analysis.

1. Research Deliverables

The research hopes to identify both positive and negative consequences, particularly in relation to clinical settings, information and data storage, patient care, and the economic impact of the EHR implementation. And also, barriers to its adoption such as lack of technological skills by employees.
