SBS220 Business Writing
ASSIGNMENT OBJECTIVE
The objective of this assignment is to demonstrate your business writing skills and self-reflect on your progress throughout the course this semester.
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Write a reflection (350 words) detailing:
· Your original goal(s) for the course (refer back to your Assignment #1).
· What skills did you learn in our course? What challenges did you have? How did you overcome them?
· How will you will apply the skills you learned this semester in Business Writing to your courses next semester (and beyond) and in your professional career?
Feel free to also include any overall feedback on the course that you would like to share with me (e.g. what you liked the most, ideas for improvement, etc.).
The format of the assignment should be an email to me (to/from, subject line, introduction stating the purpose of your email, body of email includes support/examples, conclusion with goodwill and/or call to action, email signature, etc.). Do NOT write your email as you would an academic essay . Instead, use the guidelines and examples about “Responding to Inquiries” in chapter 9 (Routine Business Messages) in our textbook.
To help with this reflection review the course description and objectives, course assignments completed and business writing strategies that were discussed in this class. Ensure you proofread your reflection for format, grammar, paragraph/sentence structure and spelling.
(the first Assignment #1).
However, I am a fast learner and that is my biggest strength that I think will help me in this class to improve my writing and develop my skills. The big challenge that I will face will be the writing itself, because it is not my preferred method of communication.
I have set a big goal for this class which to be more confident about my writing and I am planning to achieve it by doing all the work required for this class. I know that I will need to do a lot of work and write many drafts but you, my Professor, can help me with that by being patient and understanding.
Overall, I am hoping by the end of this semester I will improve and get more comfortable to write, even though I know that this will be a long process and much work. I'm expecting that you can provide me with excellent feedback and enough chances to fix all my work to achieve better results. Thank you and enjoy the rest of your day.
