Final Essay: Analyzing Multiple Perspectives in which a Set of Arguments is Made

In this assignment you will make an argument that falls under the requirements of this prompt. You are not limited and can research and write about whatever topic you want. The most important focus here is that you are making an argument. You will articulate multiple arguments that center around your chosen topic and map major points of similarity, difference, contrast and connection between them. This is a research paper and you must have at least 6 to 8 outside sources. Content-wise, most of your arguments will differ greatly – your job will be to synthesize these texts to analyze a central argument.

Your outside sources must be researched and located via scholarly/peer-reviewed sources (if you want to use a non-scholarly source you must check in with me first and get it approved)

Successful papers will achieve the following:

Formulate one singular thesis statement that posits a debatable argument

Articulate how each argument specifically comments on the topic

Map major points of similarity, difference, contrast, or connection

Support your thesis with textual evidence from all chosen texts (research)

Put all of the texts into a “conversation” with one another.
