b. A power point presentation. short power point presentation as follows: 6 PowerPoint slides. The following details will be valuable to those creating a traditional poster as well.

Slide 1 must list your name, title of project and a short 2-3 sentence abstract where you present your thesis statement and provide a “map” for the poster. A thesis statement is your summary argument presented to the reader/viewer. The rest of the poster slides provides evidence for your statement. For example, your first slide 1 might include the following:

· Your name ,

· (Example title) Diversifying the “Pipeline”: An Examination of Race and Social Class Factors on Pipeline Theories of Women’s Advancement in Science

· (Example abstract with thesis statement) While “pipeline” theories point to expected increases in women’s entrance and advancement in scientific careers over the next decade, the women imagined in these theories tend to be white and middle class. In this presentation I make the case that women’s advancement in science varies by race and class identities that provide more varied life options. I suggest a more inclusive notion of “women” would provide a more accurate prediction of women’s entrance and advancement in science.

Slide 2-5must provide evidence for your claim using text, figures, links, etc., properly cited. Properly cited means that you include, for example, (Garcia, 2008) if you are using Garcia’s work, and (Garcia, 2008, p. 349) if you are using a direct quote from Garcia. You list the complete citation for Garcia in your “References” at the bottom of the slide 4 (see below). Wikipedia and other such websites are not considered academic resources, although they may help you access academic resources. You should reference EACH of your 6 sources at least once in these evidence slides.

Slide 6 must provide a 2-3 sentence conclusion and your bibliographic references at the bottom in small font, using APA. The Purdue University website at
