Training and Development Final Project
Students will work as a consultant for the final project. You are assigned in teams and will work as a team. The purpose of this assignment is to apply the concepts we have learned in class to a “real” organization. Students will choose a company for the purpose of review & evaluation of the firm’s training and development programs and suggest areas for improvement in a paper and a PP presentation.
Grading Rubric
Content -40 pts
Evidence/support using APA-10 pts
Organization of paper/presentation -15 pts
Grammar/punctuation-15 pts
PP/video presentation-20 pts
Final papers should consist of the following:
1)
· Minimum 5 full pages to a maximum of 7 full page body detailing all 4 stages of the Training and Development Process (12-point font, double spaced).
· Assessment. Who, what, when, where, how? What are the current issues/problems to be addressed? Turnover, absenteeism, poor management are some examples. See chp. 4.
· Design. Define the objectives, select a trainer and materials, make a schedule. See chp. 5.
· Implementation. Deliver the program. What will the atmosphere be like? How will you resolve problems? See chp 6.
· Evaluation. How will you quantify data/impact on the bottom line? What data would you want to collect? Evaluate participant reaction and transfer of training. See chp 7.
· APA style (in-text citations should be used in the body of the paper)

2nd portion of this assignment is to create a 10–15-minute presentation of the written report as a NARRARATED PowerPoint, or YouTube video detailing the requirements as stated in the paper. Each team member should introduce themselves before their part. Send via the BB link as indicated by the due date. NOTE: It is the student’s responsibility to make sure the presentation is viewable and to ensure the presentation runs automatically. That is, the audio and slide progression should be synchronized and play smoothly.
