Compare and contrast Ohio’s required Special Education documents with those of another state of your choice. Power Point Presentation 8 to 10 slides .

This assignment will allow students to examine how special education paperwork varies when looking at individual state requirements. All states are guided by federal regulations, but the look and organization of documents varies considerably. Special educators need to be adept at interpreting documents from anywhere, because children might enroll in your district at any time (with or without supporting documentation). Of particular important are IEPs and triennial evaluations (sometimes called Multi-factored evaluations, or Evaluation Team Reports in Ohio).

When comparing state documents, students should consider the following, and expand on and explore whatever detours present themselves. Findings will be shared with classmates in the form of an 8 to 10-minute presentation (live for in-person classes; recorded and posted for online classes).
