INSTRUCTIONS:

1) The Final Assignment will be available in Moodle at 9:00 am on the date of examination.

2) This is an open resource examination; there are (04) pages. Students are allowed to refer any digital materials (Internet, Proquest, Masader, and OER) with proper referencing and citation for each answers.

3) Students has to answer the questions typewritten in the word (.docx) format.

Figures / Diagrams, equations and solving of problems can be written by hand and added to the document as a picture/image.

4) Save the assignment file using the student ID & Course code.[ Eg : 22s1234 –

EECPxxxx]

5) Students should submit the answers through the turnitin link provided in moodle page. If any problem occurs, send it to the staff email [Sangeetha.tr@nct.edu.om]

6) Students are encouraged to upload the answers in the moodle at least two hours

before the deadline to avoid any technical issues.

7) In case of any technical problem in opening or submitting your assignment please contact your course tutor through email and copy the Department Head

Question No 1 (25 Marks)

Honest Bank, is one among the popular financial institutions in Oman. Honest Bank’s operating

strategy distinguishes it from other financial and banking companies. This makes Honest

Corporation’s client service more responsive, reliable, and empathetic. At present, honest bank

is experiencing a 20 percent annual turnover rate for bank tellers. An investigation into the

problem revealed that training program provided to the tellers is ineffective.

The bank tellers’ tasks include:

 Balance currency and coin in cash drawers at the end of each shift, and calculate daily

transactions using computers, calculators, or adding machines.

 Cash checks and pay out money after verifying that signatures are correct, that written

and numerical amounts agree, and that accounts have sufficient funds.

 Examine accuracy of deposit slips and verify amounts.

 Enter customers’ transactions into computers to record transactions and issue

computer-generated receipts.

 Examine checks and verify other information such as dates, bank names, identification

of the persons receiving payments, and the legality of the documents.

 Identify transaction mistakes.

Tellers’ daily work activities include:

o Communicating with customers, supervisors, peers, or subordinates by telephone, e-

mail, or in person.

o Maintaining interpersonal relationships and cooperative working relationships with

others

o Use computer and a special software to process all the transactions

o Making decisions and solving problems—analyzing information and evaluating results to

choose the best solution and solve problems.

o Communicating with customers, the public, government, and other external sources,

either in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.

Question No 2: (15 Marks)

A computer manufacturing company employing people from multiple cultural background wants

to become a leader in Technological and managerial innovations. The company wants to deliver

innovative and efficient products and also become a low cost leader. As they want to widen

their operations and enter into new markets, they plan to decentralize their operations, in the

near future. The company has appointed you to develop an effective Training and development

system for the organization.

Given the present situation created by Covid 19 almost all the industries are facing problems

and economic recession is expected. Oil and Gas Companies are badly hit due to global

recession and reduced fuel prices.

Assuming that you are working in an Oil and Gas company,

a. What do you think will be the impact of Covid 19 on HR activities? (3 Marks)

b. Do you think companies should cut T & D activities and Budget? Explain (2 Marks)

c. Suggest some innovative ways to manage T & D activities during the recession period. (5

Marks)
