Assuming the role of a Project Engineer as a member of team:
Development of a Project Engineer Plan (Total points possible 400)
Deliverables:
Your company has pre-qualified to submit a bid package for Coronado Resort and Spa under a
cost-plus fee and GMP contract. The project involves construction of Resort and Spa building
costing $93M. As a part of the bid package, you have been asked to prepare a document explaining your project management and organizational plan based on the constraints mentioned in the statement. Prepare a 4-6 pages document (addressing all the mentioned constraints)
along with a 10-12 slides PowerPoint Presentation (15-20 minutes) with voice-over as a
group and submit by Sunday, May 2nd midnight.
Each group member should assume a particular role (i.e. project manager, safety manager, etc.)
and present his/her work collectively in the project document and individually in the PowerPoint (2 slides with voice-over per member). In case of individual assignment, one can assume all the
roles and provide description of each role.
You do not have to go much into the Technical Specs of the project as you are not required to design anything. All the technical information is provided to show the complexity of the project.
You should prepare your management plan considering all the components and constraints described below.

information of this project and not just any generic aspects of the project management.
Project Description
The Coronado Resort and Spa, owned by Coronado Hospitality, is being constructed as a luxury high end resort. Located less than 40 miles from Washington D.C., they hope to bring in guests looking for a weekend vacation. The main building is a three story above grade with an attached four-story guest house that lodges all the rooms. The joined basement houses all the service rooms and mechanical spaces. The project duration is four years and will cost approximately $93 million. The building exterior is a combination of stone veneer and stucco.
The selected construction company will be contracted with the owner through a cost-plus fee and
GMP. The Resort is looking to become the first Resort of its kind to be LEED Certified.
Project complexities/constraints:
· The regional soil consists of a blend of deep, well drained, silty soils and clays. During
footing excavation, the subsurface water level was not reached.
· The owner has set a completion date of December 2023.
· It is critical that the contractor provide a safe environment for all the workers on site. The owner wants to have an elaborated plan on zero accident strategy by the selected general contractor.
