Case Study I-3, pp. 144-156. After careful reading of the case material, consider and fully answer the following questions: 1. What were the primary reasons for changing the current system at Butler? 2. What role did Butler's IS department play? 3. List the objectives of the pilot. Were there any problems? 4. Do you think Butler made the right decision to utilize this new technology? What implications does this decision hold for Butler's IT department in the long run? In general, your answers must be complete sentences, grammatically correct. Do not use bullet points or sentence fragments. Your paragraphs should follow the standard argument support format as closely as possible: thesis sentence, supporting evidence, summary. Technical details: each question should be answered separately. Number each of your answers to correspond to the questions. There is no need to repeat the question at the top of your answer. Use single-spaced text, normal margins. MS Word document format is fine, or plain text. The total assignment typically can be completed in approximately one and a half with these formatting guidelines. You can answer these questions using only the case study itself and material from the text book chapters. When referencing any of this material, there is no need to cite it formally in your answers. You may go outside of the text book to support your answers, but you will need to cite your source using any recognized citation format.
