Why Start a Blog

Blogging is fast gaining interest among many, especially the youth. It is one way of expressing oneself, unlike writing a diary, which is quite outdated. You might be asking yourself, why a blog? Can't I write in my journal? If you look closely, you'll see that a blog comes with many benefits, unlike writing on a paper. One merit of having a blog is, you can reach a large number of people through your narrative. If you are still contemplating whether to start one or not, I'm here to encourage you to start. Here are some of the reasons why you should start your blog.

First, blogging improves your writing skills. Writing a blog once or twice a month affect your writing abilities. Over the past writings, you'll see you'll have a significant improvement, and you'll get an idea of what your audience responds. These skills will improve your blog, and eventually, you'll find your unique way of writing, which will further stretch your audience. Secondly, blogging can make you improve your technical skills; first, it may be difficult, but as you continue, you'll learn and get familiar with necessary yet crucial information about this technological age. Social media marketing, designing for WordPress, writing for a different audience, SEO best practices, creating web graphics, Email marketing, Content management, Website hosting are just some of the skills you can acquire. For example, over the past years, my blogs have been revolving around politics, and now, I can confidently say that that's a topic I can relate and use in my personal life. One can also start a blog to inspire your audience. Do you have a thing you can put it out there to impact your community? Blogging can be an avenue for that. Imagine changing the lives of your audience or creating something beautiful through your writing? Bet it's an excellent feeling that will make you want to do more. You can also earn income from blogging. Interesting, huh? Though it's not that easy, it's possible. You have to master your craft. Most people live through their blogs. First, you have to expand your audience to gain advertisers in your blog, which is one way of earning from it. But be prepared to put hard work for it to be profitable. Although starting a blog may have an immense impact on oneself, it may also have its demerits. Blogging may lead to bad mental health through social media. One may want to compare himself to other bloggers or what your audience says about you, causing social anxiety.
