Reading through the list of reasons for being or seeking spirituality, the two that make sense to me are purpose/direction and exploration/mystery. Sometimes finding or having a purpose in life isn't clear for everyone, so living and not truly knowing what your reason for existing is, can be really difficult. Believing in something greater than you and using that "something" to guide you daily to live life is relieving. It provides a sense of calm to your spirit because God is guiding you to where you need to be, and he is there if you're lost and trying to find your way. People use the spirit of what their belief is to cover them and hope it provides or leads them to answers of questions they have. Exploration and mystery are another one that makes sense. To me, there is so much that is unknown and so much that we will never know or tap into, believing is God and the spirit of Jesus is almost like a "well why not?" There are worse things we could believe in, and there could be nothing to believe in at all. God is what feels comfortable to me and what I trust in, but I'm also allowed to be curious about the world and the mystery of spirituality. People are entitled to believe in and worship who they want, and whether others believe in it also, it can be acceptable because it's really a mystery to all of us. Believing in something that is unknown may lead you to answers you seek or reveal things you didn't even know you were looking for. Everyone might not need these two reasons to flourish in life or to live day to day. People may use the sun and the consistency of 24 hours per day to use as purpose or direction: it is something that is constant and familiar, and it doesn't involve spirituality or religion. Others may use research and their own curiosity to explore the unknown and chose not believe in any one thing because it all is possible. The reasons to be spiritual or religious vary from each one to the next, and it is a personal choice on why they choose what they do.
