Guidelines for Essay 3: The Power of Images and Images of Power

2-4 pages (double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font), page numbers. Citations using Chicago style. Each image should include a caption and a source.

Start by selecting the following:

- One example of the power of an image, - A second (different) example of an image of power, and - A third (different) example of the absence of figural imagery from your Dossier

Once you have chosen three specific examples, discuss the three works of visual art focusing

on the absence of figural imagery and the role of images of power and the power of

images on the non-figural work. In the conclusion, discuss how the absence of figural imagery

in particular addresses the question below.
