War is an event that must not only be experienced, but also comprehended. It not only destroys, but often leads to the unity of the people, to an emotional, cultural, moral, ethical outburst. It unites people in a single impulse against a one enemy. War plays important role in the American history, in spite of mass destruction and victims of people it made the country stronger and powerful during all this time. The wars were held not only on the U.S. territory, but also covered the whole world. Looking up to the history of creation America, during 12 years of the American Revolution a large number of people have fallen to confirm their independence from the “England Crown”. By the end of the 18th century, England controlled the whole continent. Step by step, revolt by revolt future “americans” combated for their own belief and thoughts and develop new government leaving old ideas of the “English Crown”. In 1776 during the presidency of George Washington, the most significant event occurred in the United States it was the Declaration of Independence. The main author of the document was T. Jefferson. All of this was the first step to create new and independent country with their own rules and politics. To build something new you need to destroy all the old. It confirms that war has always been important to the American experience, but only asserted their own power over time.

Civil war 1861-1865 put an end to slavery and united all the states in a single whole. Abraham Lincoln in his First Inaugural Address discussed about slaves saying that “One section of our country believes slavery is right and ought to be extended, while the other believes it is wrong and ought not to be extended”. Because at that period of time slavery played an important role in the South economy of the country and slave trade was commonly used in that region. Moreover, he said put a question which said that “Again: In any law upon this subject ought not all the safeguards of liberty known in civilized and humane jurisprudence to be introduced, so that a free man be not in any case surrendered as a slave?”. Also, Frederick Douglass in his speech delivered July 5 in 1852, he said that “There are forces in operation which must inevitably work the downfall of slavery” and of the way was a civil war were people fought for freedom.

The other important part of “Civil War” was war victims. During this war 620,000 people killed and more than 412,000 wounded from both sides. The most terrifying thing in the war is the victims, because wives losses their husbands, children their father and country losses own power. But their victims were not in vain, it helped to establish relationships between North and South and to step up to new era in the history of the United States. Abraham Lincoln underlined importance of victims in his speech “I am loath to close. We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.”. In his most famous speech in American history, the Gettysburg Address he said that “We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.”. And it inspired people that their victim played important role for the country. After the war few years later the United States was already one of the leading industrial powers.

The Second World War was the most difficult and bloody in the history of mankind. The fighting took place on the territory of 40 countries. 72 countries took part in the war. The losses were over 60 million people. This war also had a great influence on America to. Before war country was in the “Great Depression”. By 1932 thousands of American banks and more than 100,000 private enterprises had been closed. Industrial production decreased by half. The level of wages fell by 60 percent, one out of every four workers was unemployed. In that year, Franklin Roosevelt was elected president, his election platform promised the American people a "New Deal.". In his First Inaugural Address speech he said one of the famous phrase “. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself”, which breathed new energy into the people. But unfortunately, Roosevelt's "New Deal" could not put an end to the depression, but the economy began to straighten out only on the eve of America's entry into World War II due to the increase in military production. It was the way how the U.S. overcome “Great Depression”.

Also, entry into the Second World War to affected on raising U.S. to a new level of development. Overcoming “Great Depression” was part of it. Government begun to invest money in scientific development and as a result Oppenheimer created first nuclear weapon.
