Project managers rapidly come to understand the need for good, clear communication tailored to the needs of the owner. It has been stated that the success of any project depends on communication, and that most project failures can be traced either to poor communication or a lack of needed communication (Ciminelli, 2021). Communication Management is the key to project control, the essential element of project management. Without the benefit of a good communications management system, the processes involved in the development of a project from conception to completion can be seriously constrained.

In terms of project management, communication can be of various types:

1. Written Communication

2. Oral Communication

3. Non-verbal communication

Communication management benefits an organization in several areas. Below are just a few of those areas (LaPrad, 2018):

(PMI, 2008) Monitor Communications

It goes without saying the communication is vital to any project and communication plays into everyone’s role within a project. A successful project manager must be a great communicator! Project management communication is a skill that is never perfected, can always be improved and is pivotal in being able to initiate and mobilize a project effectively (Ciminelli, 2021).
