In this study case, the ethical dilemma is about being socially responsible, particularly on the commitment to the local community. Social responsibility may refer to a business acting in a manner that benefits the community and society. It can be practiced in different forms, such as through philanthropic efforts, conservation of the environment, supporting volunteer efforts, and promoting the company's diversity and labor practices. Philanthropic efforts in business are significant because it creates a next-generation which is capable of using and understanding, for instance, on the use and improvement of technology (Anderson, & Anderson, 2018). Zenna’s café may practice philanthropic causes like offering a platform to host fundraisers for different groups, including schools for sports teams. Encouraging this practice facilitates good marketing to the business since the community is invited into business, and it has a good experience and sees it in a positive way. Conservation of the environment is also paramount because it helps minimize problems in the environment to deal with the current challenge of global warming and other issues locally like toxic spilling of chemicals.

However, this ethical practice may have undesirable consequences, such as spending more money to implement social responsibility; it conflicts with the motive of making a profit, and consumers become wise to greenwashing. Social responsibility leads to a tremendous fall in earnings on small businesses since it takes time to monitor exchanges as it communicates its policies to the community, and it may involve the hiring of extra personnel that the business is unable to afford (Antonakakis, &Chatziantoniou, 2017). An ethical solution that may consider all stakeholders' welfare is praising positive behavior such as integrity, caring, respect, and promoting the involvement of the community in the business. Involving the community in the business will help create a better culture, improve brand reputation, and make the members in the Zenna’s coffee business feel good that they are doing positive things in their work and to the community.
