● You are to write a 5-page paper on a human disease of your choice. The paper should be double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-pt font, 1” margins. The last page of your paper should be your list of References and does not count towards the page total.

● Subject topic- ​ALZHEIMER'S other DEMENTIA'S

● Content: ○ Include the history of the disease; who

discovered it, how it affected the population, etc.

○ Describe the pathophysiology of the disease: how it affects the body’s normal functioning on a cellular and organ level. (For example, explain how type I diabetes affects the beta cells of the pancreas)

○ Describe the symptoms of the disease that one may experience and why.

○ Describe how the disease is diagnosed in a practitioner’s office and what the results would be

○ List treatment options for the disease and explain why these treatments work. Try to find both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies.

○ Describe how to prevent the disease, if applicable.

● Sources: ​Citations should be done the way you have learned to do them for your major (MLA, APA, etc) and must meet the standards of an academic, college level works cited page at the end of your presentation. You must use only credible online sources - sources like Wikipedia, magazines, and opinion blogs do not count. You should use at least five sources in order to have a good paper. Good sources include books from the library, disease association pages (for

example, the page for the American Diabetes Association), scientific journals, or credible websites.

Don’t plagiarize​. I have caught many students over the years plagiarizing because I specifically look for it. If you plagiarize on anything in this class, you will receive a GPA of 0 for the course.
