Running head: ENGLISH AS A GLOBAL LANGUAGE

ENGLISH AS A GLOBAL LANGUAGE

English as a Global Language

English language has dominated the global language to a greater extent. It cuts across nations. It forms a tie across diverse cultures among the western part of the world. English language masters the foreign cultures and covers them up by making them adopt newer forms of civilizations. It’s however a greater challenge to the smaller societies that cherish their special economies. The English language forms the base of change in the global perspective. This brings out sense when we see how nations adopt newer systems of development from the English speaking and industrialized countries such as America. English therefore is a global issues owing to the fact that it is spreading across the world like bush fire. This feature disrupts the people’s attitude and the culture systems across the world.

There are alternatives that limits the use of the language globally making it only function in cases like education, business among others. The menace this language brings to the society is a great deal. This brings out the sense that the fabrics of the people and their cultures gets broken if English is allowed to invade the newer cultures.

This paper focuses on the English language as a global issue, and the ways and alternatives that can reduce the impact.

According to mydans (pg. 2) English has a great command on the world like no other language. Linguist echoes that English might never rise to the ladder of being the top language in the world. Others see traps, yet the variables they refer to just underscore the grasp English has on the world: disturbances like atomic war or environmental change or the inevitable flawlessness of a translation machine that would make a typical language pointless. Some demand that semantic development will keep on taking its course finished the hundreds of years and that English could in the long amazing a typical dialect as Latin did, or Phoenician or Sanskrit or Sogdian before it.

Reducing the use of English can limit the culture ruins that it comes with. The main solution to this is by making the countries come in agreement by limiting the use of English across their nations to help the effects that comes up with the language. The English language has got several effects on globalization and culture thrift. The main problem with globalization is that different nations tend to mimic the aspects portrayed by the industrialized countries such as the Americans. It is a form of getting rid of barbarism and bringing in civilization. This is a form in which the English clouds the mind and makes the entire nation perceive that all they do is complete nuisance to the society. This brings in newer concepts of living within the society. It facilitates the erasing of the common cultural ties and traditions and brings about newer forms of living thus eliminating originality among the people.

Traditions can be learnt effectively if English is removed or minimized. This makes the originality of the people supreme and can also be achieved if globalization is set aside.

An alternative to this issue is by focusing the English language to only education and business. This realms of the global package counts out the global cultures and further lets the students and workers comprehend the universe in a better way as never before and to futher make them multilingual.

Alongside English transitioning as worldwide language, several new arrangements coming up in diverse parts of the world, and with English being used highly as a tool of correspondence among the people using it as a language as a moment or outside dialect, we need to take gander at the issue of “ universal comprehensibility.” And not from the perspective of speakers of traditional assortments of English, yet from a really universal point of view. (Hung, pg 61).

Education as a motivation towards assortment of English is an approach on the knowledge to instruct the student’s sounds or highlights not located in just where they are genuinely imperative for the global understandability as projected by the practical level of understanding and motivation and repetition of sound or highlight being clicked to, adjusted against the trouble and propriety of such a sound or highlight for global students.

In conclusion, English language is a foundation to initial culture destructions. The problem is reversible fact. The daily English daily use in different nations can be limited only if the nations can be willing to accept this fact. English should be confined to business premises because it’s constructed in a business form. That becomes the main reason why it is a global issue. It has a high rate of moving across nations. It has an effect on the people’s attitude and the culture systems globally. The main alternatives to this issue is by utilizing it only for educational and business purposes. English is one of the good languages in the world but that does not give it a chance to dominate earth.
