TOPIC 3 PROJECT ASSIGNMENT: CREATIVE MINDS
THESE ARE INDIVIDUAL PRESENTATIONS: YOU EACH CHOOSE YOUR OWN TOPIC
INTRODUCTION
The Topic 3 Assignment is different from the two academic essays you’ve written so far. Academic essays introduce you to the skill of reading or viewing multiple expert sources (articles, videos) on a topic, analyzing the sources, and writing essays based on new information as well as what you already think or know.
For Topic 3, you’ll do a multimedia project, and you will decide on how you will approach and present the project. You’ll do a short presentation of your work to the class, and also do a short reflection essay based on what you discovered about your creative abilities as you worked on the project as your Final Reflective Writing piece.
Assignment: To produce, in a creative way, a ‘multimedia’ presentation (words and visual) project of one of the following types:
“Problem solving”: Decide on a material problem in your daily life (something that can be fixed, step by step) and come up with and present a multi-faceted solution to it.
“Sociological”:
Choose three artifacts that represent important and current aspects of your culture and explain them.
“Psychological”:
Choose three artifacts that represent you and that give a full picture of who you are.
“Artistic”: Create an art project (of any kind) that reflects your culture, you as an artist, or something else you want to express.
“Propose Your Own Topic”—There are really so many possibilities; all of them will work..
[Definition of artifact: an object made by a human being, typically an item of personal, cultural or historical interest]
