Emerging IT and Security Trends
The field of Information Technology is not only fast-paced but also faces a myriad of challenges. At the moment, the systems that are available in the market perform a variety of functions in diverse sectors and, thus, are often integral in the success of various activities. The core of these systems, however, is the security of the various components that they have.
At the moment, there are emerging IT and security trends that are interesting and dynamic in their functionality. The first one among the emerging trends is the risk appetite statements, which are linked to business outcomes. The trend provides a certain level of security to business outcomes, and thus, one will have better chances of making more informed decisions that affect their businesses. The other emerging trend is security operations centers being implemented, and they are focusing on threat detection and response. The trend focuses on threat detection rather than the predecessor which focused on threat prevention. In this regard, the security operations centers will be checking for security threats and detect them before they do any considerable damage to various systems. The other emerging trend is data security, whereby data security will begin from acquisition of the various products to ensure that they match the relevant needs of the entity using them. In this way, data security will be tailored to the individual needs of an organization, and therefore, organizations will have an easier time managing security issues (Weldon).
