GIS: Introduction & Use as a Decision-Making Tool

1. What is the single most import thing that you learned in the tutorials regarding GIS as it pertains to this course? 

2. Discuss a specific map example from one of the tutorials. Provide a short summary to include: What data was required to make it? What analysis was performed? Why is it important (or not) ? What decision might it help make?

This is not a GIS course. However , GIS is a critical component of Emergency Management so at least some basic knowledge and skills are required. 

You will be watching several tutorials and responding to questions above.

1st : This is from ESRI. They are like the Microsoft of GIS...the biggest game in town by far. The good people there have posted this Intro course:
