Dream Job: Community Relations Manager for the Golden State Warriors
I am perfect for this job because not only have I been a Warriors fan since Baron Davis led the ‘We Believe’ Warriors to the playoffs in 2007, I was born and raised in the Bay Area, and I’m very familiar with the surrounding communities that the Warriors can and should build relationships with. I have always been passionate in bettering my community, as in past jobs, I have taken part in helping organize fundraisers and donation drives. I am also currently a member of a social and racial equity committee for Solano County, in which I help create presentations and organize events with community leaders, schools, and businesses to raise awareness of and create involvement for community issues. This year I have had meetings with Bob Sampayan, the mayor of Vallejo, to discuss the implementation of a Smoke free multi-unit housing ordinance for the city of Vallejo to promote environmental sustainability. I am also on a student equity panel to persuade Solano County educators and school leaders to consider and revise aspects of their policies that might produce racial inequalities among student racial groups. I love the Warriors Season of Giving, and Go Green initiatives, and I believe I could use my past and current connections from my community work to create even more programs with the Warriors. I know my knowledge of and involvement in local Bay Area communities would make me an invaluable asset to your organization.
Thank you for your time.
