Elementary Level Teacher's Aide

Job Title: Elementary-Level Teacher's Aide Department: Elementary Education Location: [Onsite] Reports To: Classroom Teacher / School Principal

Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and organized elementary-level teacher's aide to support teachers in the classroom and help foster a positive, engaging learning environment. The teacher's aide will work closely with students and the teacher to assist with instructional activities, provide individualized support, and help manage classroom activities. The ideal candidate is dedicated to student success, adaptable, and enthusiastic about working in a team-focused elementary school setting.

Key Responsibilities

The elementary-level teacher’s aide will

· Support the classroom teacher by preparing instructional materials, setting up activities, and helping to manage classroom resources.

· Assist in implementing lesson plans by working with students in small groups or one-on-one to reinforce learning concepts.

· Monitor and assist students during classroom activities, recess, and lunch, ensuring their safety and well-being.

· Help maintain a positive, organized, and inclusive classroom environment, promoting respectful behavior and cooperation among students.

· Support students who may need extra assistance with reading, writing, mathematics, or other subjects.

· Assist with classroom management tasks, such as taking attendance, distributing and collecting assignments, and grading basic assignments under the teacher's direction.

· Help organize and supervise classroom projects, field trips, and other school-related activities.

· Provide individualized support for students with disabilities, behavioral challenges, or those requiring additional assistance in collaboration with the teacher and support staff.

· Communicate effectively with the classroom teacher about student progress, classroom needs, and any challenges students may face.

· Assist with classroom technology, including operating computers, projectors, and other equipment as needed.

· Encourage positive social interactions among students, helping them develop strong interpersonal skills and conflict-resolution techniques.

· Ensure that the classroom is safe and clean by helping with basic organizational and housekeeping tasks.

· Follow all school policies and procedures, including safety protocols and guidelines for student supervision.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are required for this role:

· Bachelor’s degree with coursework in education, child development, or a related field

· Experience working with children, ideally in a classroom or educational setting

· A passion for working with young students and a desire to support their academic and social development

· Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and other school staff

· Patience, compassion, and empathy, with the ability to build positive relationships with students

· Basic organizational skills and the ability to help manage classroom activities and tasks

· Dependability and the ability to follow directions and school protocols consistently

· Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling student information

Preferred Qualifications

The following skills and experience will be preferable in applicants:

· Experience working with students with disabilities or in an inclusive classroom setting

· Familiarity with classroom technology (computers, tablets, projectors) and experience helping students use educational software

· First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain certification)
