EKG Assignment
Beginners EKG 6 seconds strip interpretation
Professor Lewis 2016
Step 1: look for a P wave for every QRS complex
Step 2: make a notation on any 2 QRS complexes, then see if each heart beat “march out” across the
strip. This will determine if the rhythm is regular or irregular. (sometimes an irregularity is obvious)
Step 3: count each QRS complex and multiply by 10 for an estimated heart rate. (there are other
scientific methods to assess heart rate, for now this is a good start) The strip below is an estimated 130
beats per minutes.
