Q. Please read the below paragraph and write the response of what you think about that paragraph. Include any examples if you find.

Security threat is a risk which can potentially harm computer systems and organisations. The cause of this action could be physical as someone is steling a computer that have some vital information. The cause could also be non-physical attack like virus attack.

In terms of this physical threats is threat that can cause loss or physical damage to the computer systems. The physical threats further classified into three cateogries internal which contains fire, unstable power supply, hardware etc. External which includes lightning, floods and earthquakes, etc. or Human which includes theft, vandalism, disruption etc. As internal and external threats can be reduced by appying some sort of techniques but third option is cannot be reduced as human thinking is just like a random number which can be change at particular instinct so the greates potential threat is Sabotage and Terrorism.

Q. Please read the below paragraph and write the response of what you think about that paragraph. Include any examples if you find.

some companies and businesses invest lot of money to safeguard their data from cyber attacks by hackers etc and concentrate less on the physical threats like sabotage, hardware malfunction etc as it has both administrative and technical aspects. Now a days technology is so advanced and companies have latest infrastructure to save their data and run their applications. But still many companies are using legacy systems to save on money and some times there is no possibility to move it to a different new systems. Some of the physical threats for such legacy systems include instability of the materials used, temperate and humidity of the data center environment, overuse of the digital media such as CD,DVD etc, failure of infrastructure, hardware malfunction, power surges, theft and vandalism, unauthorized/incompatible hardware modification, software errors, accidental data deletion or modifications. Physical security measures are tough to manage as complexity increase due to technology and enables new vulnerabilities. An approx. of 74,000 employees and contractors are affected by a data breach in 2014 due to stolen unencrypted laptops. Companies should also concentrate on a Physical security program and secure the assets through various levels of security.
