The Hoosier company is in the next phase of company development. Reengineering and restructuring the company needs dire attention. “Currently, Hoosier Media utilizes traditional media vehicles for marketing. This includes print advertising to solicit new and renewal newspaper subscriptions. Other marketing tactics currently used include regional television and radio advertising spots”. To bring Hoosier company up to date, the organization needs to re-engineer its daily operations so the company can achieve company goals which are stated in the mission and vision statement. Hoosier needs to focus its attention on other ways of marketing, technological updates, and brand recognition.
One way of becoming current in modern times is creating a social media profile on all 3 major platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Social media is an essential piece for marketing strategy. Platforms such as Facebook can help you connect with your customers, Twitter can allow your customers to “retweet” your brand or advertise your product, and Instagram can help you with posting positive feedback and customers testimonies. Additional social media help promote your brand and it can be a potential method of boosting sales. According to Marketing Insider Group (2019), “six reasons why investing in social media is a wise business move:”
· Build Awareness
· Communicate Authority
· Show Authenticity
· Encourage Engagement
· Provide Support
· Grow Affordably
Another process of reengineering for the company Hoosier is allowing employees to work from home. Having employees work from home is a win-win for employers and employees. For employers the cost of maintaining employees in the office will be reduced, for example, a company can save on furniture, utilities, and parking. Yes, the disadvantage of employees working home will be a distraction, but a study shows that “95% of businesses say working from home significantly improves employee retention” (HuffPost, 2018). Another advantage for employers and employees is “more focus, less stress; whether it’s cramped conditions or intrusive coworkers, offices can be the enemy of productivity. Working from home can not only curb these distractions, but it’s also been proven to reduce stress and enhance overall mood” (HuffPost, 2018). Also, “employees are asking for up to date computer equipment. Some employees would like to have access to iPads and would like to replace their desktop computer with lightweight laptop computers”. A company will like for its employees to stay focus and happiness. Having new equipment shows the employees that their efforts and hard work is crucial and appreciate. The additional new equipment will help with daily operations getting done effectively and efficiently.
As I am presenting this proposal to the stockholders, I would like to communicate the benefits of SWOT and how to implement SWOT to this proposal to improve Hoosier company daily operations and future endeavors. SWOT is strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. SWOT analysis is “is a framework used to evaluate a company's competitive position and to develop strategic planning. SWOT analysis assesses internal and external factors, as well as current and future potential” (Investopedia, 2019). The fundamentals “is designed to facilitate a realistic, fact-based, data-driven look at the strengths and weaknesses of an organization, its initiatives, or an industry” (Investopedia, 2019). Using the SWOT analysis to reengineer Hoosier company marketing process will benefit the company in the long run. Additionally, it will make it easier to achieve company goals and it will help employees, management, and leadership stay true to the mission and vision statement. SWOT provides an evaluation tool for the Hoosier company, it also identifies the company weakness, opportunities, and strengths, and also it can identify competition, risks, and new potential opportunities. Applying SWOT analysis to this proposal will only benefit the Hoosier company to becoming stronger and also it will keep the company atop of the marketing industry.
For this proposal to be successful, the process of implementation is important. Business implementation is “the process of executing a plan or policy so that a concept becomes a reality. To implement a plan properly, managers should communicate clear goals and expectations, and supply employees with the resources needed to help the company achieve its goals” (Small Business Chron, 2019). Adding new equipment or updating equipment will also benefit the company because it will make the employees happy and more focus meaning productivity will be increased and efficient. Also setting up a program for employees to work at home will also be important. According to Small Business Chron (2019), “Business implementation is important for moving a company forward, as is not underestimating the importance of implementation planning. When a business fails to implement and execute its strategies properly, it fails to move forward and grow”.
