CTO Realty Growth is deciding whether or not they should launch an accounting

internship program.

The facts are the company is rapidly expanding their real estate portfolio and growing

as an organization. With this growth comes extra responsibilities for all departments

especially the accounting department.

They ultimately decided to launch the accounting internship program because the

benefits that come with hiring interns, outweighed the cons.

Describe the Decision-Making Process that the company had to go through to in order

to arrive at that conclusion using the 6-Step Model Below

1. Strategy 1: Use Decision Analysis Tools

2. Strategy 2: Acquire Exper se

3. Strategy 3: Debias you Judgement

4. Strategy 4: Reason Analogically

5. Strategy 5: Take an Outsider’s View

6. Strategy 6: Understand Biases in Others

7. Strategy 7: Nudge Wiser and More Ethical Decisions

Paper Requirements are below:

Part I

I. Title Page

II. Write an introduction to the paper

IV. Select and overview an area of the organization or specific problem, for decision

making.

• This should be one that you believe can be measurably improved.

Part II

Using the seven strategies identified in Chapter 12 of the Bazerman & Moore text,

prescribe in this section a course of action. Your ultimate objective is to utilize the

techniques to make a decision to influence the decision-making process to measurably

improve an aspect of your chosen organization

.

V. Prescribe a course of action.

• Keep in mind, a simple incremental plan can be better than an elaborate plan especially when it is well crafted; results need to be measurable, not necessarily “mind-boggling.”

• You are not be expected to solve all of the problems in a selected company.

• You should provide a clear section on each of 1-7 below:

1. Strategy 1: Use Decision Analysis Tools

2. Strategy 2: Acquire Expertise

3. Strategy 3: Debias you Judgement

4. Strategy 4: Reason Analogically

5. Strategy 5: Take an Outsider’s View

6. Strategy 6: Understand Biases in Others

7. Strategy 7: Nudge Wiser and More Ethical Decisions

NOTE 1: The first three strategies seek to create broad change in our intuitive responses

to decision-making situations. In general, they strive to heighten our awareness of our

cognitive limitations and our susceptibility to bias.

NOTE 2: The last four strategies provide techniques for improving specific decisions in

specific contexts. They offer concrete methods for testing and adjusting actual decisions.

Together, these seven strategies provide tools for changing and “refreezing” your intuitive

decision-making processes in the future.
