Assignment description:

To use  lateral thinking and 6 thinking hats  to develop a new business concept or to add a service to an existing brand (The challenge is to come up with a solution or an outcome that normally doesn't)

Project learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

Develop knowledge of the use of open ended exploratory methods in the Communications Industries

Learn about manual and IT diagram making, representational, concept mapping skills to explain and enhance solutions

Develop knowledge of how to present ideas and developments with confidence and clarity through presentations, seminars and critiques

Cognitive skills:

Understand how to capture an idea in the early stage of exploration and identify qualities that are worth developing further.

Value and develop creative thinking, and translate insights into creative solutions

Understand the value of experimentation and see ‘mistakes’ as an integral part of progression

Interpersonal Skills and Responsibility:

Demonstrate teamwork skills through group projects and inter-dependant situations.

Improve communicative skills through working with students who intent to specialise in a range of communications fields

Psychomotor Skills 

Demonstrate skills in creating visual records and communications

Tasks to be covered:

Describe your business in details (name, description of your service, why did you choose this type – describing the unique factor) 

Analyze your business using the 6 thinking hats techniques (Answer at least 3 question in each hat)

Use one of the experience scan technique to test your business concept

Additional requirements:

Delivery method:  2 pages’  report: font times roman - font size 10 – spacing 1.5 and a  PowerPoint  to summarize your work

Group member: 2 maximum
