CLASSMATE 1

Attention

I. Imagine yourself on an amazing vacation. Is it at a tropical beach, exploring a major city, or adventuring through the mountains? How did you get there? A plane, a train, or a car? What if you couldn’t get there?

Purpose

II. Vacation is something that many people look forward to every year. Often, people travel outside of their city, state, or country to their holiday destination. However, there are some spots in the world that are very difficult to vacation in, since they are nearly impossible to travel to.

Credibility

III. I have traveled to many different places, 47 out of the 50 states, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, and Curaçao. In addition to my own travel experience, I have referenced several travel blogs that have done research on which places Americans might have difficulty visiting.

Preview

IV. I will begin by giving a brief overview of the top three most difficult places to travel to for American citizens.

Conclusions

Review

I. Throughout this speech, I have introduced you to the hardest places to travel, and why travel might be hard for Americans when attempting to visit these vacation spots.

Concluding remarks:

II. It is estimated that nearly 100 million Americans planned to take a vacation in 2019, and with the world slowly opening its borders in the coming years, I hope you can gain a greater appreciation for your next vacation after considering just how hard it could’ve been to get there.

CLASSMATE 2

Introduction

Gaining Attention

I. If you're anything like me, then you just might love tequila or just drinking in general. Alcohol brings people together and can lead to either a lot of fun or a lot of regret (as many of y'all probably know).

Purpose

II. As you might know, tequila is made from agave plants, but something you might not know is the other type of liquor that comes from agave: mezcal.

Credibility

III. As a former liquor store employee, I have tried my fare share of liquor. I've had everything from fancy bourbon whiskey to pickle flavored Moonshine. But my favorite was always tequila until I tried my beloved mezcal.

Preview

IV. Today, I will tell you exactly how Mezcal is created in just five steps: Harvest, Roast, Crush, Fermentation, and finally Distillation.

Conclusion

Review

V. After hearing my speech, you now should have all the basic knowledge on the making of mezcal starting with harvesting agave plants and ending with the distillation process.

Concluding Remarks

VI. If you gain anything from my speech, it should be that you should try mezcal as soon as you can (assuming you're of age). You'll either love it or hate it!
