HEALTH OUTCOMES IN FLORIDA

Florida is my state of choice. In this state, the Florida Department of Health has been working tirelessly to protect, promote and improve the health of every person living here through integrated state, county and community efforts. Every year, the immunization section conducts a survey that is aimed at evaluating immunization coverage levels among selected age groups. This according to me is one of the areas that need to be improved. Immunization among the people has not been done properly. This is seen because Florida has an overall of 7200 premature deaths.

The creation of health center programs will help address the problem of immunization in various ways. For example, it will check on the problem of delayed immunization of preschool children that threatens the health of children from all races, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups (Khan, Set al., 2018). This will also help in reaching for the minority children and children living in poverty through increased awareness of the problem. The children languishing in poverty, as well as the homeless, will be reached easily through such a program.

As a nurse leader, it is my responsibility for ensuring that all children receive the immunization that they need on time. This can only be realized through strong leadership being exerted at all levels, setting clear targets and formulating comprehensive strategies. The creation of awareness about the importance of immunization is one of the biggest milestones. This will help ensure that every child in Florida gets the vaccines that they need. It will encourage the parents to go further in their efforts of bringing their children for immunization for the greater good of our state
