Strategic Management DQ Response Week 4
Discussion Question Response
Steven Littlefield - Debriefing Rounds 2 and 3 -
At least I am not alone in feeling frustrated in my decisions. Unfortunately, I made some big investments on automation, and I am yet to see them pay off, although I am hoping I can turn it around over the last few rounds. Andrews' stock price tanked in round 2 but rebounded in round 3 and hoping to keep improving.
Our market share is still steady at 13% which is on par with the other companies save for the top 2. We have still not hit our 30% contribution margin, which everyone else seemed to do, so I'm really going to try and work on that in this week's round. I think I went maybe a little too heavy on the investments in the first round and I can see that now. Perhaps I misunderstood some of the requirements, but we created a new hi-tech product from scratch, which was a huge piece of the investment. I didn't believe I even had a hi-tech sensor to start, which is why we created the new one.
I am continuing to learn and grow as we move through this, and hopefully can steer this ship back in the right direction.

Nilsa Ramirez - Hello everyone,
Another challenging week for me. I managed to do better in rounds 2 and 3 for the contribution margins, I was able to meet the target however, in inventory, my position remains the same. This problem continued so I have some adjustments to make. I had a higher profit in round 2 compared to round 3 and because I was more aggressive on plant expansion for round 3 I suffered a -$1.03. The market shares also dropped significantly so this is something to think about that needs improvement. I was not expecting this to happen, but I've learned from it and hope to make better decisions moving forward. I just need to figure out the right balance and I should be good to go.
