Advise Shania on which of the interested persons she should include in her business, in what role(s), and why. Your analysis must include Biblical perspectives, such as Biblical considerations of marriage, and business relationships with non-believers. Thoroughly explain the reasons for your recommendations.

Each person mentioned in the prompt, Marvin, Kelsey, and Carlos are able to have different roles in the business. Marvin is seen as a supportive husband who may be too busy to help Shania with the day-to-day operations. Marvin is a true example of Ephesians 5:25 “husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church” (New International Bible, 1978/2011). Marvin is showing his love through capital and being a supportive husband. Marvin’s only role in the business is as an investor and supportive husband.

Kelsey, would likely be an employee in the business and move quickly to management. This would be a great role for Kelsey as she has already expressed interest in getting out of the house for a bit each day. Since Kelsey is a full time stay-at-home mom maybe a part time position or alternative hours would work best for her. As Kelsey’s sister, of course Shania wants to help her sister in whatever way is possible. Unfortunately, her husband does not agree with her working. Kelsey and her husband will have to discuss the possibility of Kelsey working. That is a discussion between wife and husband, not Shania, Kelsey, and her husband. Shania can offer Kelsey the job and await an answer. Ephesians 5:22-23 is a verse the couple may want to look over it mentions’ that wives and husbands must submit to each other as they do to God (New International Bible, 1978/2011). The decision is not just the wives or the husbands, it has to be something the couple decides together.

Lastly, Carlos’s role in the business should begin as an employee. Carlos may be a non-believer now, but that may change. Employing Carlos would give Shania time to be an example to Carlos as to how she lives her life. Spending countless hours together working Shania and possibly Kelsey would have the opportunity to share the Gospel and pray for Carlos. Carlos is fully aware he has asked to work at a Christian coffee shop and will experience some talk of the Bible and God. However, Carlo’s idea of working with the Mormon temple will not work, Mormons and members of the Latter Day Saints do not drink coffee.
