Some of the political tension that occurred after the American Revolution was mainly to increase the amount of people who participated in politics and to create a government. They wanted to see if they should create a central government.  With the addition of people participating, it led to independence of the U.S that led to the ability of colonies to live outside of the British Empire. Post American Revolution war the only people who benefited during this time was white wealthy men. African Americans were not changed out of the situation of being enslaved post American Revolution. The new political system was not in favor for these individuals who lived in the colonies within the United States. Women were not looked at differently as they were always looked at if they had one specific job in life. Women were viewed at to child bear, staying home, and taking care of the family. Chapter 4 in Zinn reading was not a peaceful time at all. America had not made it to the point where they would even be close to uniting. All that Americans were concerned about was whether they would be able to have a self-government. The issue was they did not know how to go about creating this. Our founding fathers were also at a point where they wanted Americans to trust their judgement in creation of this government. One way that the elite’s were trying to win over wealthy white men is to stress the need for slavery and keeping that an option. Another way the elite’s were trying to win over white men was to have they join their political party.  Chapter 5 in Zinn reading shows us that the general attitude of the working-class were either they thought the war was essential or they thought that it was unnecessary. These white males who fought for the war were told they would get land for fighting. The founding fathers came from high class. Meaning that they came from money and people who were well off financially. Alexander Hamilton was born in a family that had financial connections. George Washington had land which he profited from. James Madison had an interest with plantation. Ben Franklin was a printer.  Shay’s rebellion effected the construction of the government as it occurred after the American citizen were not able to pay their individual or trade taxes. The name of the first U.S Constitution was The Articles of Confederation. Majority of the founding fathers grew up wealthy. Their families came from land that held farms and most did also have slaves. The founding fathers spoke about having a government that would look would be divided between classes. To have the wealthy men at the top and everyone else below them.

Interesting post! I agree that the African americans, women, and the indigenous population were not treated any better after the American revolution. If anything it made it more clear that they were second class citizens with no rights. I did wanna mention that I disagree with your point that before the revolution americans were concerned with the ability to self govern. I think the majority of americans in this time period didn't want to self govern as much as they wanted more equality in the class system. They wanted wealth more evenly distributed, as during that time the majority were very poor and the few were extremley wealthy and powerful.

I agree with you When you talk about how people knew that regardless of what government was in charge they would need to pay taxes is very accurate. You put a lot of great detail into your post. Also All of the burdens and exertions, such as food strain, taxation, and providing more supplies, were felt by the lower class, impoverished, and working people. Because the hard work put in is ignored, this would undoubtedly increase distrust and tensity. Great post.
