Is the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) necessary? Why or why not? Aren't women assigned the same rights as men in the current language of the US Constitution? Are women still discriminated against in hiring, wages, credit approval, or other areas? If so, is such discrimination within the authority of the government to solve? Should Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) ratification be achieved through approval of only three more states or should the process begin all over again? What are the arguments for imposing a contemporary consensus time limit, and what are the arguments for allowing an unlimited amount of time for state approval?
