MLB has a very wide fan base and following internationally, in 2013 when the scandal of players using steroids came out in open the news caused a major backlash and disappointment to the ethical sentiments of the people following these players. Baseball players who were taking help of steroids to get ahead of their competitors to win was considered both unethical and illegal. According to Nancy, bio ethical values reflect the principles that are expected to be followed by sports players in order to deliver best performance without altering the biological factors influencing their performance (2018, p.3).

Steroids are known to increase the performance and strength of individuals to exhibit maximum potential while doing physical activities. Thus, the controversial theory that coexists with sports teams and players is the use of prohibited chemicals to improve performance on field. Many sports physicians have recently come out talking about the same, stating that team owners and managers put immense pressure on bringing the players to exceptional performance pressure putting the ethical values to question. According to Erickson, the all-time bests of MLB home runs and player performance has been hitting record highs during the same time when use of steroids has come into light (2015, p.1).

Health professionals and athletes try to keep these matters confidential, but there is always a way these unethical issues come to light bringing the ethical conduct of players to question. But the most important problem is because fans and public develop assumptions on all players, which effects the ethical image of the ones that are not involved in such conduct. It is very important for health professionals, athletes and team owners to be on the same page with respect to ethical values and standards.
