SUBJECT: RECOMMENDATION FOR PERFORMANCE MEASURE INDICATORS
Following the desire of the facility to improve quality standards of services offered at this facility, I write to recommend to quality team members some key factors that they should consider to identify meaningful measures data collection techniques that will help to performance measurement of this facility.
Organization Strategic Plan
Currently, the top management of this facility works towards improving the quality of healthcare services offered to patients. The senior management has stated vital issues that all facility employees should do to improve quality issues to enhance facility performance. As such, the quality assurance team should ensure that facilitate strategic plans of the management to find possible ways of improving the quality assurance of the facility (McWay, 2014).
Also, the quality assurance team should consider the level of the healthcare system of the facility to decide on the most appropriate method to use when collecting medical data. In doing so, the team will be able to gather all relevant data will help to improve the quality of healthcare services within the facility.
A Holistic Set of Measures
Furthermore, quality team members should consider the process that is used currently to provide services to patients. They should do this by assessing the effectiveness of the existing process that is used to deliver healthcare services. In doing, the team will be able to identify the weakness of the current method which will help to decide on the best process to use to provide quality healthcare services to their clients.
Besides, the team should consider the structure of the facility before making any recommendation about quality improvement measures (Braun, Catalani, Wimbush & Israelski, 2013). In most cases, the structure of an organization influence services delivery. Therefore, it prudent for the quality assurance team who is going to assess possible ways of improving the quality of healthcare services to patients. Also, the members of the quality assurance team should ensure that their proposal on what to be done to improve quality assurance are capable of giving put appropriate outcomes that will bring significant changes.
Stakeholders’ Interest
Generally, stakeholders of the healthcare facility have different expectations. First, the management of the facility expects quality improvement measures to increase the number of its customers. Therefore, team leader of quality assurance should consider that any proposal that aims at quality improvement should consider management interest (Alkhenizan & Shaw, 2011). Doing this will help to create smooth coordination during their implementation of new measures that will help to improve the quality of healthcare services provided to patients. Additionally, the quality assurance team should also put into consideration the expectation of customers of the facility quality of healthcare services directly affect their decisions. Making such consideration will help the team to know the needs of the patients and help them proposing the best measures that should be done by the management of the facility to improve the quality of services.
Lastly, for the quality assurance team identify appropriate measures that should be done to improve quality of services of the facility, they should ensure compliance by the regulatory guidelines to ensure quality measure recommended by the team meets professional regulation. Conclusively, the quality assurance team should put all consideration in place to ensure that all their proposal will be able to achieve the goals of improving the quality of healthcare services.
