Develop a content outline for your media project by thoroughly researching your topic and then compiling the research into a formal outline. (Use the formal content outline in your DiZazzo text as an example.) The content outline should contain everything that a writer would need to know about the subject in order to create a script.

When you have your outline complete, develop the treatment, which is a basic narrative of what your media project will look like as you currently envision it. The treatment should be written in third person and present tense, while employing a simple descriptive style. You may want to use snippets of dialogue to illustrate the tone of the piece, but do not use technical jargon to describe shots, transitions or scene information. The treatment should easily be understood by the client for approval.
