Chiquita Banana Ads

The Chiquita advertisement of bananas is one of the best because the way they do it makes the bananas seem sweeter and of better quality than the normal bananas that we see. It affects the people viewing the advertisement to a point that they just go ahead and buy bananas that have the Chiquita Brand. Let’s take a look at one of their advertisement. The color that has been used in the ad below is a bright one and can be seen from far. It is also believed that the color yellow and orange is mostly used in advertisement of foods because it arouses appetite in people. Therefore, that is a good step and the font used to express their message to customers is one that is easily seen even from a distance. In the advertisement they decided to mix the color yellow and blue and these colors complement each other making the ad good to look at. The font and the color fit just well and even when posted somewhere like a billboard people will be able to see the message and the image.

The next thing is the design of the ad. The design is very simple and direct to the point and that is because, the only thing that has been posted on the ad is five bananas that resemble someone’s hand with the thumbs up meaning that people like the bananas that are branded by Chiquita. The message that has been typed on the ad just says what the image shows and that is’ Millions are about to like it’. The design is therefore easy to understand and pleasing to look at and even though it has a simple design does not mean that there is no creativity. Having an ad of five bananas with one of them peeled and resembles a person’s hand with the thumbs up is creativity enough to attract people to buy bananas that have been branded by Chiquita.

There should be information that is typed on the ad that is set off as a list because it will tell the customers what they are supposed to do and why. A good example is the information on the advertisement below that is ‘Millions are about to like it’. The information shows that millions of people are about to like the Chiquita branded bananas because they are of better quality when compared to others and that will make even the individuals who are looking at the Ad to go for it so that they are not left behind. The information can also be of the number of people who have already liked the bananas after getting a test and it should be easier to follow in a chart, table or a graph so that the interested customers can weigh and see if it’s worth a try or not. This is because there are some customers who like analyzing the information before they make the decision of buying a certain food product thereby making that kind of information very important.

Finally, to make the design of the ad more appealing, I would make the writings that have written in the ad bolder and instead of using the grey ink for the final part I would stick with the blue ink. In addition to that I could add more information about the bananas and the people who have already liked the advert but I would be careful not to overdo it. I would also splash some orange in the advertisement because orange is also another color that has been proven by scientists to induce appetite in people and that is a technique that should not go to waste.
