For this Discussion Board, each student will need to create ONE NEW THREAD in the Discussion. To create a thread, click on the "Create Thread" button in the bar above, then type your responses to the questions inside the text box that will appear (or you can cut and paste from a Word document). When you are finished, click "Submit" so that your responses will be saved. In order to encourage original responses, you will not be able to see others’ responses until you post yours.

For this post, you will need to have read and considered the graphic short story
"On a Plate".
Then, please answer the following questions:
1. What groups in society to Richard and Paula represent? What assumptions does the author make about the audience and the subjects?
2. What is the thesis of this piece? (It is implied, which means you will need to construct a sentence which relays the main point.)
3. Identify the points of comparison on which the visual story is based. The author uses point-by-point organization to tell the story. How would the essay differ if subject-by-subject organization had been used? Why do you think point-by-point is most effective here?
4. What is the meaning of the title? Does the conclusion reflect the thesis and organization of the essay effectively? Does the author appear to favor one side over the other? How? Why do you think so?
