Rao, R. V., & Selvamani, K. (2015). Data security challenges and its solutions in cloud computing. Procedia Computer Science, 48, 204-209.

The authors examine and discuss data security challenges and solutions to overcome the risk involved in cloud computing. A thorough explanation accompanies explanation and structure to understand how these data security challenges will affect companies. The author talked about the significance of authentication, authorization, and access control for data stored in the cloud but did not suggest any possible challenges and solutions. The author also explores the broader subject of Data encryption as a solution for data security. The author suggested encrypting customer data before uploading it to the cloud. However, it did not address better encryption algorithms that can use in the Cloud platform.

Encryption is the best solution for securing data in the cloud. As most countries enforcing compliance laws for customer data, encryption can reduce the misuse of data. As part of data security challenges, this paper will help to understand the significance of customer data encryption.

Sun, Y., Zhang, J., Xiong, Y., & Zhu, G. (2014). Data security and privacy in cloud computing. International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks10(7), 190903.

This paper includes a clear explanation of security issues related to data in the Cloud. The author discussed the current potential problems and solutions available in the industry. The author surveyed different data security and privacy methods, focusing on storage and importance of building customer and provider trust by establishing data security over the cloud. The author talked a great deal about data confidentiality and threats. Although it did not address how encryption can be used efficiently to address inefficient search over huge amounts of data in the Cloud. As this paper includes different types of solution for each data security problem, it can help to explore better option for current data security problems and suggest suitable solution according to results.

Kumar, P. R., Raj, P. H., & Jelciana, P. (2018). Exploring data security issues and solutions in cloud computing. Procedia Computer Science125, 691-697.

The authors discussed different data security issues currently happening in a multi-tenant environment, which is multiple users using the same resource based on priority. They talked about Confidentiality, Integrity, availability (CIA), Authentication and Access Control (AAC), and other security-related issues in Cloud computing. The authors described different data stages in the cloud as data-at-rest, data- at-use, data-at-transit, and data-after delete. They pointed out that data-after-delete is one of the problems neglected by both consumers and providers. The author suggested using a third party to evaluate data integrity in the cloud. The paper provided several solutions to each problem but did not compare or criticize potential solutions to problems. This paper provided Services Provided by Delivery Models and the Responsibility and different stakeholders in Cloud computing to achieve better data security in the cloud. As this paper includes issues related to multi-tenant environment, it can help understand which solutions can be efficiently used for solution and provide insight into data-at-rest also

Ramachandra, G., Iftikhar, M., & Khan, F. A. (2017). A comprehensive survey on security in cloud computing. Procedia Computer Science110, 465-472.

The author's research objective was to understand the risks, security issues and cloud components with including emerging solutions that may mitigate the current cloud's vulnerabilities. As it is a commonly accepted fact that since 2008, the cloud is a viable hosting platform; however, the perception for security in the cloud is that it needs significant improvements to realize to increase adaptability in enterprise level. The cloud computing industry has made advances in combatting threats to cloud computing, although it needs to able to achieve mature level of existing traditional/on-premise hosting. This study focused on data storage security issues in cloud computing and provided service models of cloud, deployment models, and various security issues in data storage in the Cloud environment. As this paper discussing about deployment models and related security issues can help to understand current issues and compare.
