Introduction

My dream career is to become a cybersecurity expert in future. The career prepares one with adequate knowledge and information to protect technical data from unauthorized users such as black hat hackers (Carlton & Levy, 2015). An organization requires a cybersecurity expert to monitor all the technological infrastructures such as the database, websites and servers of an organization. The expert is knowledgeable in fighting against all the techniques that back hat hacker's uses to steal and compromise data in an organization. Due to advancement in technology, many businesses have shifted from the traditional manual methods of collecting, analyzing and storing information to digital methods.

Currently, many businesses are using cloud computing technology to gather, analyze and store sensitive information for an organization. It is my dream career since it offers more job opportunities since the entire business world has been digitalized its activities for the last few decades. More hackers have always been proactive in developing strategies to compromise the data of an organization. Competitors of a particular business always hire black hat hackers to compromise data for their peers as a fair, competitive method to gain more market share. It is always an advantage to a firm when the leading competitor loses considerable market shares due to a data breach in an organization. My duty will be to protect an organization's data through all possible technological means from access to unauthorized users in an organization. The three points that pushed to work very hard for my dream career are that first; I have a passion for computers; secondly, the job has favourable terms and conditions and high job opportunity.

The first main point

The first main point of choosing a cybersecurity expert as my dream career was my passion for computers. I choose the career because I enjoy working using computers since I was young; I found my parents already fun. I was lucky since my parents introduced me to computers very early before enrolling in schools. My passion for protecting computer hardware and software intrigues me into this career.

In my life, I was also passionate about working in the security division; due to the high ethical standards I uphold, I can work extra hard to ensure unethical people, such as black hat hackers, are not able to achieve their targets of compromising either an individual data or an organization. Many organizations worldwide lose a considerable amount of resources due to data breach through hacking.

Second main point

A cybersecurity security expert has favourable terms and conditions. Before concluding the job description, I researched the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Through my research, I realized that the career has better terms and conditions regarding working condition and pay. The payment for the cyber expert in an organization was high compared to other types of jobs in the same organization. Good pays enable an employee to work hard to achieve both the individual's goals, such as career progression and the organization's goal.

The job description of a cyber expert is clear and straightforward, including support and recommending the organization in developing effective strategies to enhance physical security that is also critical to an organization intending to promote network security. However, cybersecurity needs to be conversant with the network safety protocol. The expert also needs to familiarize and decide which computer security program is compatible with an organization structure. Lastly, the experts must regularly monitor, maintain, configure, and run the security programs of an organization von (Solms & von Solms, 2018). Since the Cybersecurity job is based on technical skills, the experts spend limited time monitoring the network system. Thus, they are not overwhelmed and thus have more free time than employees such as in the sales department.

The third main point

The third main point is that there are high job opportunities across the globe for cybersecurity experts. For instance, some states in the United States, such as California and New York. Industries such as healthcare are in the two states using Electronic Health Record (EHR) to gather, analyze, and store information about health organizations and the patient's data. The EHR technology is also vulnerable to cybersecurity attacks; the HIPPA, on the other hand, imposes strong heavy penalties to a healthcare organization that does not safeguard its patient data.

Such organization and so many organizations are aggressive in employing experts to protect the organization's sensitive data. Through my research, large organizations can pay their cybersecurity experts as much as 10000 USD basic salaries (Bauer, Truxillo, Jones & Brady, 2020). Having good pay will allow me to advance in my career by paying the school fees in time, and also, I will be able to sponsor myself in seminars and workshops that enhance the skills of a cybersecurity expert.

Conclusion

Cybersecurity is my dream career since I have a strong passion for working with computers I developed since I was a kid. Secondly, due to the responsibility and the nature of the work, I will have free time that I can use to advance my career through formal education, seminars and workshops. More opportunities in the cybersecurity industry the employers can pay the experts good money that I will use to advance my career and cater to my personal needs.
