1. I refute the claim that the surveillance of consumers by retail anthropologists is manipulative and unethical.

2. I have three reasons as to why I support it

1. Peoples’ perception that they are being guided on what they are buying. Some individuals especially women do need their husbands or boyfriends to know what they are purchasing and end up feeling uncomfortable.

2. Consumers get more satisfied when they purchase their items and leave the retails without monitoring. They usually feel that they have the freedom when purchasing their items as long as they act responsibly.

3. Some customer have tendency of making the right choice of purchasing while they are not monitored as they feel more free.

3. Thesis statement: monitoring and surveillance affect customers’ perception, their satisfaction and choice they make while buying.

4. In the article of “Customer Reaction to Unethical Behavior” shows how consumer are not comfortable while purchasing under surveillance and how they perceive it.

5. Conclusively, customers can be educated on the benefits of surveillance in order to avoid the fear they have while making their shopping.

2. The following reasons make me support the claim.

1. Easy access of items needed. The location makes the customer to pick the intended item and leave the retail. Reduces time consumed while making shopping.

2. It is beneficial to the company and increases its sales hence realization of more profit. Surveillance makes the customer to make more purchasing of item which will increase the earning of the company.

3. Reduces the cost of employing guards at every corner of the retail shop. The guards manually monitors what the customers are purchasing and makes sure they conduct themselves responsibility while shopping.

3. Thesis statement: surveillance benefits the company as it will be able to reduce cost incurred, realize more profit and make it easy for customers to get access of items needed.

4. The article of “science of shopping” show how some years ago there were no surveillance or monitoring technology while the customers were shopping. Use of cameras and video has enhanced effectiveness of a company to monitor its progress.

5. In conclusion, effective use of surveillance enhances outputs from the company and reduces time consumed in purchasing process. Companies will rapidly expand and realize its goals through use of surveillance.
