Under what circumstances is rehabilitation effective?

The way to ensure that rehabilitation is effective will be to identify why the person is in

prison or what criminal activities does the person did. Once those factors are identified now there

could be programs that are set up to address those areas the goals of addressing the areas and

providing the inmate, a way of reducing criminal risk with the goal to reduce recidivism. I know

that it may not work for all the prisoners but there are those will take full advantages of what a

rehabilitation program has to offer.

Under what circumstances is rehabilitation ineffective?

The circumstances that a rehabilitation is ineffective probably will have to do with the

environment itself in which the inmate is housed. The other reason is that rehabilitation programs

are completely optional the inmates and some of the inmates will not accept and forgo the

programs and if the program do not address the actual problem of the inmate, it will not be

effective and will have people returning back their criminal ways.

Is the cost of rehabilitation worth it? Why or why not?

The cost of rehabilitation is worth it in my opinion, although it may cost a lot to get a

program going. The purpose of the program is to offer the inmate a way to regain their life or to

get things back to normal with whatever the prisoner is in need of if they need training while in

prison they will be able to receive the training they need and if they need therapy, they should be

able to have access to a therapist. Once an inmate successfully complete either the training or

therapy program they will have less of a chance of recidivism with that in mind the program will

pay for itself because there will be less population because of the effectiveness of a program.
