Introduction

Background of the study

The main reason for the study has been to evaluate and analyze the amount of knowledge patients have concerning hypertension and how the patients take treatment and drugs which are related to hypertension. The bottom line of the study is to evaluate how different opinions on hypertension and the treatment of the disease and how such opinions differ from one place to another especially due to the difference in culture or ethnic of these groups. In addition, the study will be evaluated on what the research can do to improve the adherence to these groups. The research subject is equally important to nursing. In the nursing field, we have to deal with different groups. Nurses need to connect, convey, and care for the treatment administrations of various patients having a place with various societies and racial origin. In most cases, nurses are faced with the challenge of dealing with one treatment at a time, but they do offer modes which are different especially to patients who are suffering from the same diseases (Marshall, Wolfe, & McKevitt, 2012). In this case, nurses can administer the treatment using different methods depending on culture and racial of the community in the question. Methods of Study

The authors completed a methodical audit and account combination of subjective examinations on hypertension. In the study, the authors of the article looked at the causes of hypertension and how it can be prevented through the taking of drugs. In addition, the authors have researched how different patients from different cultures and ethnic groups understand the issue of hypertension. Some the electronic database which the researchers have been evaluating in the study is such as Medline, Embase, the British Nursing Index, Social Policy and Practice, and PsycInfo. Apart from the above, other papers which are relevant have been searched help in coming up with various methods and strategies which help in understanding qualitative research and some terminologies which are associated with hypertension (Marshall, Wolfe, & McKevitt, 2012). In the study, some of the methods which have been used in collecting data are such as conducting face to face interviews, and journals published on the topic as a sample an thus help in evaluating the perspective of the patients on hypertension and taking of drugs. Apart from face to face interviews, the researchers conducted telephone and filling of questionnaires in an effort of bringing a better understanding of hypertension. Some of the people who were excluded from the research are those leaving with diabetes or cardiovascular diseases and pregnant women. Some of the methods, which were used by the researcher to synthesize the data, are such as tabulation, textual summary, and thematic analysis. The textual summary was very important to the researchers especially in adopting the "one-sheet-paper method." Final themes were developed through consensus and discussion of the full-text papers and supported by coding its presence in the text (Marshall, Wolfe, & McKevitt, 2012). Tabulation was used in determining similarities and variations of cultures and ethnic group in different countries. Results from the Study

As per the results of the study, it was found that the causes of hypertension are family history, stress, overweight, alcohol and also food. Of all the sources stress was found to be the main cause of hypertension. The patients with hypertension were found to have a lot of worries. In a Dutch study done, a participant was able to see the relationship between blood pressure and worry as synonymous. However, most of the participants agreed that stress is the main cause of increased blood pressure. Also, in the course of the study, participants from six different countries suggested a supplementation or replacement of drugs with traditional ones and even other alternative medicines. The supplementation and replacement were more connected to beliefs and practices of certain cultures. The results of the study are so important to the practitioners of nursing. This study enables nurses to cater for the needs of different patients who come from different belief systems and cultural backgrounds. Through the study, nurses are also able to monitor how the patients take their medications (Marshall, Wolfe, & McKevitt, 2012). This way, they can know whether the participants adjust their doses, or maybe take the drugs in a sporadic manner due to lack of knowledge or information. The patients may even stop taking the medicines for the control of blood pressure, and therefore the nurses need to keep a close eye on them. For these same reasons, nurses have to play their role of providing the required information to their patients about the control of hypertension. The format of good research work was adhered to. The same applied to the case of the norms. Data collection methods were also in check. Their transparency was visible. The research methodology as a whole was very free of errors. The relevance of the study is well established as the nurses can monitor the progress of their patients from various cultural backgrounds and with diverse beliefs. Also, they can know the reasons behind the emergence of blood pressure among individuals. The research teaches nurses on how to have a closer eye on their patients suffering from high blood pressure.
