"All work and no play makes' Jack a dull boy" is a famous statement used by many youngsters as well as academicians till date. However, not only does it mean an individual need to indulge in some form of fun it also emphasizes on ensuring one works. Therefore, for my topic ‘online gaming' marries well with this timely adage for gaming, as it has been termed, has become one of the most used form of fun and entertainment. Nonetheless, I have chosen this topic since it serves the day to day purpose in an individual's life by being a means of stress relief as well as a mind involving item and also helps in brain development.

In my current state, I have come to understand many people have left gaming for the younger generation especially when it comes to online gaming. (Griffiths, Mark, Davies and Darren Chappell, 85) This is so as they believe the future technology has been meant for the younger persons in the generation. The heart of my argument is on technology and the assumptions being put around it. Gaming has also been made more significant for children or game enthusiasts and has even been deemed as a passive activity due to its lack of physical pressure. Gaming has also been seen as an expensive activity and violent game; this is a misconception that has made gaming face the negative sector for it many people have failed to understand the widespread of games that exist and can captivate every type of interests in people.

Technology has been a constant and growing aspect of the society due to new developments and has been adapted in the gaming world as well. However, it should and needs to be noted that gaming is a social as well as a learning activity which has been and can be more and more empowered by the use of technology. (Godwin-Jones, 67) Thus, this can also be an up raising activity to individuals of all ages by adding more skills to people who can be used in working environs, the education sector as well as the mind and attained skill sets. Gaming also comes in different forms, some which involve no physical activities just mental and visual but others which also include physical activities such as dancing moving around as well as exercise (aerobics). I would recommend the gaming world, as well as developers, need to ensure they come up with advertising and promotional strategies that will capture all people of all ages and standards. (Galarneau, Lisa, and Melanie, 79)

I will also recommend the gaming business moguls filter and reduce the high and costly prices of the gaming devices and technologies used in gaming. As seen by Microsoft’s new project, its latest Xbox one project which has been featured with improved technology is user-friendly making it more affordable to the public than it previously was. Cloud computing services also need to be incorporated within the games so as to ensure more and more people become more aware of the games and also captures more audience. (Takahashi)

As much as gaming has been a positive impact according to my essay, it also comes with its negative sides such as addiction and may lead to massive financial losses. (Brian and Peter, 114) However, I have come to my stand that gaming and online gaming is more of a benefit than it is a con due to the many developments it has as well being a told that can empower social unity. It can also be used as a peace achieving point and a learning breakthrough. Another aspect is, it can also be used as a method of study or even a technique of brain development and sharpening skills in a business set up when it comes to problem-solving. (Thorne, Steven, Rebecca, and Julie, 821)

As the world develops, so does technology and so do we as humans need to adapt, gaming offers us a learning experience as well as being part of a virtual world that gives us much more in self-awareness and understanding. We also get to learn new things and virtually travel and understand livelihoods outside our vicinity. In the current society, six out of ten adults are diagnosed to have some levels of stress in their life either due to financial challenges, marital issues or work-related stress. Thus, as the saying goes, all work and no play makes' Jack a dull boy; henceforth online gaming can be a means of blowing steam.
