Compare or Contrast Revision 3-pages

Revision Requirements: Part of your grade is based on demonstrated revision and edit of writing between the first draft for peer review and the revised essay being submitted for grading.

v Changing the whole topic and rewriting the entire paper does not constitute a revision.  If you change your entire paper, you have to submit the draft of the new topic and the revision of it.  Feedback can be sought in these ways:

o   Peer review

o   Instructor comments

o   Tutor.com

o   The writing center

o   Self review

v Simply adding to the end of your unfinished draft is not demonstrating revision

v Simply editing and correcting the format alone is not revision work

v No outside sources should be used:  You should not score over a six percent in the turnitin originality report.

Check your revision for these content and organization points :

§  Your introduction is engaging and provides a hook.  It has a clearly stated thesis as the last sentence, and the purpose should be either to compare or contrast.

§  Your paper is three pages double spaced

§  Your paper is organized in a subject by subject or a point by point pattern and uses effective transitions

§  There are at least three separate points being highlighted about the two subjects

§  There are at least three body paragraphs that have topic and concluding statements

§  Your essay has a formal concluding paragraph
