Communication Research Article Review

HW#3

Communication Studies is a fertile and exciting field of study! This extra credit opportunity will allow you to explore a small portion of what communication studies has to offer. Reading a research article will not only introduce you to the work of communication scholars, but may also spark a desire to learn more about a specific area of interest in the discipline. Public speaking is only one component in an exciting and important field.

Please choose only ONE of the articles listed below and locate it using the MSU library databases. Read the article. Write two paragraphs about the article you read using the following format:

First Paragraph:

Provide a summary of the article. What was the focus of the article? How was the study conducted? Who participated in the study? What were the finding or results?

Second Paragraph:

Provide your opinion of the article. Why did you like or dislike it? What did you learn? How can you apply the information to your own life? How could you add to this research? Do you have interest in learning how to do scholarly research?

When writing the paragraphs, keep the following in mind: Include the APA citation of the article you chose to read. Sentences must be complete. Each paragraph should be 7-10 sentences in length. Grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and spelling will be evaluated.
