Community Clinical Rotation Discussion Question (100 points)

In at least 500 words, reflect on your experience. Pick the clinical site you would like to discuss and give a detailed overview of the scope of the clinical agency.

· What services do they provide? First aids, management of acute and chronic condition, vital signs (include weight and height), vision and hearing screening, and sclerosis screening.

· What are the populations this agency/service provide care for? Elementary school

· Discuss the common illnesses and disease processes that are seen. ADHD is the most common illnesses, sleep disorder, menstrual, teeth loss/ pain, migraine.

· Discuss medication administration and the guidelines for the agency/service. There guidelines to send kids home is including fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and rash. Medication administration is almost oral rout. They don’t do shots (IM rout) in school.

· Were there any ethical dilemmas you experienced? Privacy to release information from family and parents. Like calling wrong number, giving information to not authorized one. They work with CBS and some of the issues are from parents who are refugees. They are unable to taking care of their children because they don’t have money, homeless, one parents are responsible for children and can’t offer a good for them.

· How these agencies/settings funded? The government of state funded schools. In this community, it is a low school income in distract. All new refugees who came for the first time to USA and first time in school should attend to this type of school or community until they become able and good to communicate and understands English well. Also, it is for citizen who is in low income, homeless. Also, they do have additional funding for each programs. The programs are refugees’ programs, homeless programs, and specialized students. For example, the refugee’s programs are design to help kids who don’t speak English to learn more. Sometimes the school help them with buying things for school, clothes, food and home stuff.

· Who reimburses them? Different charity donates for them, include financial, school supplies, laundry things (dryer and washer), and different business such as (large super market and banks.)
